Ship Type Cards

Below you will find cards of various ship types. The ship’s purpose will provide your crew with, as well as what kind of spaces you will be designing to fit said crew. Find the blueprint drawn by your workshop lead to learn more about it.

View the Pirate Ship [s1]

Darkly shaded ship in the shape of a scorpion. Branches extending from the body of the ship resemble pinchers. A sharp, curved tail rises from the rear of the ship.

View the Cruise Ship [s2]

A vibrant and brightly colored ship in the shape of a large whale. A large blue window looks into the front of the ship. The fins and tail of the ship are decorated with hand drawn patterns and bright shades of gold and red.

View the Emergency Relief [s3]

A vibrantly blue ship in the shape of a jellyfish. The main body of the ship is cast in a light blue shadow, and the transparent membrane surrounding it allows us to see the “brain” of the ship. The outer rim of the body is decorated with red first aid symbols. Each tentacle, extending from the bottom of the ship, features a tool for rescue.

The body of this ship resembles a feather, with a spiraling path surrounding the outside of the ship. The body of the ship is colored in a pastel light blue, and the fibers in the feather are drawn with light strokes.

General Ship Elements

This document, marked “FOR ALL SHIPS” and living within the Ship Blueprint folder, contains a list of elements/spaces that are required in every ship, regardless of its purpose. You can reference this list to read more about the general spaces your DISCO jam lead has selected for your group to design, alongside spaces from your Ship Type card. (The exact number, and which ones, depends on your workshop group size: your jam facilitator will tell you.)

Crew Persona Deck

This deck is full of different crew member persona cards ranging from Wyverns to Space Otters to Grunks. Find the persona cards drawn by your DISCO leader to learn more about crew members’ personalities, preferences, and access needs, and inform the design of your ship. (Pay attention to which crew members are hired to which roles. Which areas on your ship will their needs be most relevant to?

View Surrussation's Card [p1]

Surussation, a Grunk, stares wide-eyed at the viewer holding a paper map. Their body is a neon red circle with tan dots. Two eye stalks poke out the top of their body to hold up their eyes, and two flat, feet-like flippers extend from the bottom of their body. They also have some small arms extending around the base of their body.

View Garrick and Parsley's Cards [p2 & sc1]

Garick is seated in their wheelchair, looking back at the viewer, alongside Parsley, their service otter. Garick has dark skin, and thick, light-gray dreadlocks. Their blazer, tie, shoes, and wheelchair have patterned spots of vibrant colors. The rest of their chair is shaded in cooler purple and gray tones. They have a slight smirk and tiny oval glasses. Parsley holds a pencil with her tail and a small rock between her paws. She has tiny facial features, including a cute button nose and wide dark eyes.

View Halea Silvers's Card [p3]

Halea Silver, a sentient plant, is shown with long, flowing leaves extending from their egg-shaped body. On the front of their body, a red bulb breaks through the leaves, which features a pattern that almost resembles a face, even though Halea Silver has no facial features. Light from above illuminates their red bulb and upper leaves, the lower leaves being cast in a shadow.

View Beebul's Card [p4]

Beebul, their body resembling a jellyfish, sits upside-down inside their transparent orb, which is kept stable by a gold ring surrounding its equator. Some of their bright pink tentacles extend outside the malleable orb. The orb is shaded in light blue, and light from outside casts bright white highlights on its surface. Around Beebul’s head, there is a soft yellow glow which extends into the orb.

View Maeve's's Card [p5]

Maeve, a wyvern, sits perched on a shiny metal chest, colorful gems surrounding it. She is turned slightly to one side, her eyes pointed toward the viewer, with a slight smirk across her face. Her wings and tail resemble those of a dragon, and she is colored with dark orange and gold, as well as light blue highlights.

View Bry-An-Dee's Card [p6]

Bry-Ann-Dee is one rock colony, all of which is pictured here. The rock itself is in the shape of a bowl, with six stabilizing legs extending from its bottom. The textured rock is decorated with many shiny pink and purple crystals, which extend from its side and its surface. On the surface are three holes, out of which Bry, Ann, and Dee extend (from left to right). Bry is light yellow, wears red glasses, and has a slight smile. Ann is pale orange and has wide, dark eyes and a smile. Dee is pale pink with thick eyebrows and a smirk. All three creatures have skinny necks extending from the rock, wider faces branching out from their necks, and stringy hair-like limbs extending from their heads.

View Robit's Card [p7]

Robit, a robot resembling a cat, stands proudly on four malleable robot legs. Her eyes are two long back slits. Her body resembles a computer chip, with circuits lining her face and stomach. Her tail, similar in nature to her legs, but with a plug on the end, extends behind her. Several rorobytes are attached to her body and face, with smiling expressions, and their small legs and arms extending outward.

View Whirry's Card [p8]

Whirry, a robot, is shown with his eyes half shut, indicating a smiley expression. He has no other facial features, but does have a few buttons beside his face. A small antenna extends from his head, with small lines indicating its reception of data. He has small wheels for feet, and long bendable arms. His dark green body is covered in colorful stickers, including a rainbow and smiley face.

Crew Persona Highlights

Within the digital Persona deck folder, there is a Persona Highlight folder marked “WAIT TO OPEN.” If your workshop leader provides you with a persona highlight as a hint to guide your design, and you would like to reference the digital version, you can do so using the document named after the persona in the below highlights folder.
